This weekend is Labour Day in Canada! Get in all those last-minute summer patio drinks, rooftop events and cottaging.

Labour Day is observed in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Yukon hold this day as a statutory holiday, while in the Atlantic provinces of Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia it is an optional day off.

All retail stores, libraries, and banks across Canada will be closed – save for a few convenience stores and of course… restaurants!

This weekend will be the perfect time to try out that local patio around the corner, or grab that cup of coffee from one of our member cafes. And while you’re celebrating the beautiful weather and a summer well done, don’t forget to show your servers, hosts and chefs some love! Because without them, those special moments wouldn’t exist.

Have a happy and restful long weekend, from the Restaurants Canada team.
