friends-of-we-care-halifaxFriends of We Care is the charity of choice for the foodservice, beverage and hospitality industries. The association has been raising money to send children with disabilities to summer camp since 1983.

This fall, they’re hosting a series of Bowling Challenges across the country, in an effort to raise money to send 150 kids to camp on Canada’s 150th anniversary. Last week they convened in Moncton (Nov. 3) and Halifax (Nov. 4) where they raised even more than they hoped – the Moncton community raised $4155, and Halifax made $7939! This money will be earmarked to host area children at fully-accessible Camp Tidnish in Nova Scotia, an Easter Seal camp.

Coming soon: the Vancouver and Toronto challenges. Check out the Friends of We Care website, and consider putting together a team to help out this excellent cause. Make it a fun event for your group – prizes will be awarded for top fundraising and best-dressed team at each event. It’s a great chance to give back to your community.
